Good evening!
We are happy to say that the LOTUS is on the move, and we will begin shipping this week.
Why is fulfillment taking so long?
Aside from losing 2 weeks CNC time while waiting on parts to repair the CNC and the two weeks lost to having COVID, we underestimated the number of items our backers would be pledging for in Backerkit. When we designed our Kickstarter, we planned each pledge level to have a limit of 150 backers not taking into account that so many people would be placing large orders. We were thrilled that people were excited about our product. We were working diligently to try to make our deadline. But in the end, we were not going to be able to make it happen and still be able to produce the quality in craftsmanship that we want to be known for. There are numerous boxes or trays that we were unwilling to send out because of one flaw or another. Wood can be a finicky medium, sometimes you get unexpected cracks, blowouts, or twists that make a product that is unusable or that simply does not meet our standards. In hindsight, we should have had a smaller number of Backer pledges available at each level, and spread-out fulfilment, because it really bit us in the …, well you get the idea. We know that some of you are frustrated with the delay. We can’t express how sorry we are. Please know that we are doing our best to get our product out to you with complete transparency.
